As always there's much of interest in your pages. But do I detect a creeping "Americanisation" in the language? An example today being "appeal the" while on other occasions we see "protest the". In both instances the word "against" should surely follow the verb. Apparently American-speak is making increasing inroads into South African English, possibly because it"s "cooler" than the fusty English English we all grew up with. Your comments?
